The ETC's (Emerging Technology Centers), AccelerateBaltimore (AB) program will run for its ninth consecutive year, with funding from the Abell Foundation. Five companies will be competitively selected for the program, each receiving seed funding of $50,000.

This year’s program is driven by the belief that the city we support is currently critically challenged in ways entrepreneurs are poised to address. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with technologies that are addressing five major city issues:

1.Public Safety

Awareness, preparedness, communication, and response.

2. Health & Wellness

Trauma/mental health, disease prevention, drug abuse, aging, and telemedicine.

3. Transportation

Accessibility, mobility, bridging technology gaps.

4. Housing

Affordable housing, vacant blocks, upkeep, access, and cross-agency communications.

5. Education

Teacher support, building upgrades, sustainable solutions, and remote learning.

During the 13-week program, the companies receive free office space, access to a high-level advisory team, a hands-on instructional program, mentors, connections to potential investors, partners, and resources, and a collaborative environment. In addition to business basics, other sessions will include, navigating the city’s procurement process, how to successfully respond to Request For Proposals, and navigating city government and agencies. ETC will also work with the city’s officials to gain a greater understanding of the process of getting a “pilot” for the technologies that will come out of the program and connect entrepreneurs to other cities with similar challenges.

Applications close August 1st, so please apply today if you’re interested: www.acceleratebaltimore.com/apply
